The rumors of a collaboration between Xbox and the Xenia Canary emulator were false
This Thursday, insider eXtas1s reported on a supposed collaboration between Microsoft and the creators of the Xenia Canary emulator. The aim of this partnership would have been to bring Xbox 360 and Xbox games to PC, but also to the cloud.
Alas, this rumor was probably unfounded. Indeed, Windows Central journalist Jez Corden contradicted what eXtas1s had reported.
"Xbox is gunning to bring Xbox games to more devices, but this particular scenario isn’t a thing at the moment."
A member of the team behind the Xenia emulator also refuted these claims in a message posted on the software’s Discord server.
"It’s not real. Microsoft has its own Xbox 360 emulator, they wouldn’t even consult Xenia. If it were true, I’d be under a confidentiality agreement."
