Brandon Blackstock death: Kelly Clarkson’s ex husband and talent manager dies aged 48 following private cancer battle
Kelly Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock has died at the age of 48 following a private cancer battle, his devastated family have confirmed in a statement.
“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” a statement shared with US outlets including People read.
It comes after former American Idol star Clarkson, 43, postponed major shows for family reasons and issued a rather personal statement.

The statement for the late talent manager continued: “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years.
“He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family.
“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.”

It comes after singer Clarkson issued a rare statement and revealed she was postponing some of her Las Vegas residency show dates due a family emergency.

She revealed that her ex-husband Brandon Blackstock had been unwell, so she was pulling back on her residency commitments to be there for their kids.
“While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them,” the statement read in part.
“I am sincerely sorry to everyone who bought tickets to the shows and I so appreciate your grace, kindness and understanding.”
The pair shared daughter River Rose, 11, and son Remington ‘Remy’ Alexander, nine.
Clarkson filed for divorce in 2020, after seven years of marriage.
He also reportedly has two children from a previous relationship and was a grandfather.
