Bethesda is still thinking about cross-play for Fallout 76… but it won't be anytime soon

Since its release in November 2018, Fallout 76 has only grown in popularity. In an interview with Insider Gaming, creative director Jon Rush and head producer Bill LaCoste revealed that the game has reached the 23 million player mark since its debut.
Scattered across several platforms, the Fallout 76 community would very much like to come together under one roof. That’s why crossplay functionality is one of the game’s most popular features. When asked about this, the two developers from Bethesda Game Studios don’t completely close the door.
"People ask us that all the time. And the thing for us, it has been more of a technical challenge for us to be able to do that. It’s not that we don’t think about it, we think about it often."
"But, overall, no real plans right now to introduce crossplay, but certainly, we get asked to consider it very often, so we do."
"Maybe in the future."
