Ben Affleck and Jon Bernthal surprise Kelly Clarkson on her birthday

Kelly Clarkson is now the lucky recipient of a big birthday surprise courtesy of “two gorgeous men”: Jon Bernthal and Ben Affleck. 

In a preview for Thursday’s episode of The Kelly Clarkson Show, which coincides with the host’s 43rd birthday, Clarkson can be seen welcoming the actors to the stage — only for her jaw to drop in shock moments later when the Accountant 2 stars arrive bearing gifts.

Affleck walked on wheeling a large table holding not one, but three birthday cakes, while Bernthal carried in a large bouquet of warm-colored florals.

“Happy birthday!” Bernthal told Clarkson, pulling her into a hug before going to set the flower arrangement down. The host then turned back to Affleck and the cakes, blowing out all of the candles as he cheered, “Make a wish!”

To say Clarkson was touched by the pair’s gesture would be an understatement. “That’s so nice!” she said, then turned to the audience and added, “I didn’t know that was coming.”

“You know how long we spent baking that?” Affleck joked of the desserts they brought. “And Jon went and got the flowers.”

Bernthal teased that he “picked every single one” of them, and even knew some of the meanings they held. “I’m just supposed to tell you that the dahlia — we’re just meeting, but that’s for inner strength,” he explained, “and you have incredible inner strength.”

Clarkson then revealed that she’s been a long admirer of the language of flowers, which is why the show’s crew told Bernthal their meanings. 

“I got a cheat card and everything because they didn’t trust me!” he said, waving the card with all of the meanings in the air for the audience to see. “And I was super scared I was gonna drop ’em. But then the peony is for prosperity, good luck, and good health.”

“I love that. I love my team,” Clarkson gushed. “Getting two handsome men to deliver it? What a birthday!”
