Jonesy and Amanda radio show moving from breakfast slot to drive no Gold FM, hosts confirm
Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones and Amanda Keller have confirmed radio’s worst-kept secret: They are moving from breakfast to the drive slot on Gold 101.7.
The top-rating hosts shared the news with their shocked listeners this morning after the news broke ahead of time.
”You and I have some big news,” Keller, 63 began.

“We have re-signed here at Gold. Re-signed. But there are going to be some changes. Brendan and I are going to go to the drive shift.”
Jonesy, 57, added that the pair “wouldn’t have otherwise mentioned this, but there’s a podcast that’s going to come out on Saturday about it” and the news has appeared “in the trade papers”.
That podcast is Game Changers, and other media outlets had already reported on the news, including Mumbrella.
“We weren’t going to announce this for some time,” Jonesy said, before Keller added that they felt they should “own the news”.

“And we’re thrilled,” she continued, with Jonesy adding that radio is about “being authentic and real.”
“And to continue being authentic and real, we could have stayed doing the breakfast hours for longer,” Keller said.
“But as long as you guys come with us and listen to us in drive, all is right with the world.”
Moving into the lucrative breakfast radio slot will be Melbourne’s The Christian O’Connell Show.
While the Australian Radio Network’s decision to syndicate the Kyle & Jackie O Show from Sydney to Melbourne hasn’t produced the results they expected, there is a belief a similar move with O’Connell’s show from Melbourne to Sydney will be more successful.
The change will begin in 2026.
It is understood plans were underway for this major change for months.
In preparation, WS FM rebranded to Gold, paving the way for syndication opportunities between Sydney and Melbourne, where the Gold brand had already been established.
“At Gold, the station’s structure was specifically built around the expectation that Jonesy and Amanda would shift to drive,” a source told Mediaweek.
“Currently, all the shows besides breakfast on the station are networked out of Melbourne, with the sole exception of the drive show, which still comes out of Sydney, a set-up designed to allow a seamless transition whenever the shift happened.”
Jonesy and Amanda said they were “happy” and “excited” about the change.
The pair have worked together for over 20 years.
In the most recent FM radio ratings, the pair maintained their position of second place in Sydney behind KIIS’ The Kyle & Jackie O Show.
The Christian O’Connell Show is number two in the Melbourne FM radio ratings, behind only Jase and Lauren on Nova.
Celebrity fans of Jonesy & Amanda were quick to congratulate the radio duo on their exciting news on Instagram.
