Angry Birds Bounce is out now on Apple Arcade, bringing brick-breaking action to the classic series

- Angry Birds Bounce is out now on Apple Arcade
- Enjoy the familiar Angry Birds with a new brick breaker format
- Line up the perfect shot to take out all the piggies in one fell swoop
The Angry Birds franchise is, inarguably, a cornerstone of the modern success of mobile gaming. And I think many younger readers (like myself) fondly remember congregating around the iPads at the Apple Store to try out Fruit Ninja, Jetpack Joyride and Angry Birds. But if you’ve been hankering for a new entry in the series, then you’re in luck, sort of, because Angry Birds Bounce is out now!
An Apple Arcade exclusive, Angry Birds Bounce ditches the physics-based tower-toppling in favour of something a little more arcadey. It’s a classic brick breaker, though you’ll still have access to all the abilities you know and love for each bird.
The objective, then, is simple. Launch your bird, bounce them back and forth to ensure that they break each brick and hit each piggy. The challenge is in lining up that perfect shot, much as you would in typical Angry Birds fashion, to take them all out in one hit.
Bouncing!
As I noted in our initial coverage, it’s exciting to see Angry Birds back on mobile once more. After Rovio’s acquisition by Sega, I think many of us were concerned they’d be turned into a Sonic the Hedgehog subsidiary. And while they have developed some great new releases that feature Sega’s iconic blue blur, they clearly haven’t forgotten the franchise that made them successful.
At the same time, I’m sure many of us are disappointed not to get our mitts on Angry Birds Bounce. So fingers-crossed that we’ll eventually get a wider platform release sometime soon!
Angry Birds Bounce isn’t the only top release this week, either. And if you want to keep up with the myriad of great new games, be sure to check out our regular weekly feature of the top five new mobile games to try this week!
