The “California Gurls” singer, 40, paused her concert at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit on Sunday after a fan that she’d welcomed onstage suddenly collapsed.

In video footage from the event, Perry can be seen greeting a group of young fans and giving them little shakers, seemingly for them to perform with her. However, she quickly noticed that one fan, named McKenna, appeared to be a bit overwhelmed by the entire experience.

“Let’s practice. You got this,” Perry told McKenna. “And let’s breathe. Let’s breathe. You got it. You got it. Ready?”

The former American Idol judge can then be seen reaching out for McKenna as she collapses to the ground, causing the rest of the audience to let out a loud gasp.

Perry remained by the young fan’s side throughout the incident, holding her head up as event staff arrived to help.

In an additional clip, Perry can also be seen saying a brief prayer for McKenna after she departed the stage. “Dear God, we pray for McKenna, that she will come back fully and brighter and better than ever,” she said. “Amen.”

Perry later told the crowd that she empathized with McKenna’s stage fright. “It’s so much,” she said, per The Independent. “Sometimes you’re so brave and you can get on stage, and it’s overwhelming. I understand that feeling.”

Thankfully, Perry was able to provide an update on McKenna’s health before the end of the show. While performing her 2013 hit “Roar,” she added, “McKenna is doing great, by the way!”

Perry is currently on the North American leg of her global Lifetimes Tour. She is scheduled to perform at the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Canada, tomorrow evening.

The incident comes less than three weeks after Perry experienced her own terrifying incident when the butterfly prop that she was riding above the crowd suddenly plummeted several feet without warning at her San Francisco show.

Perry held onto the insect during the prop malfunction, briefly gazing up at the contraption holding it together before continuing to sing the track.
