Abiotic Factor The Night Realm Walkthrough
Going through the first orange portal in the Security Sector will take you to The Night Realm, an oddly calm place in Abiotic Factor considering the entity that calls it home.
There’s not much of interest in front of you. Turn around and you’ll see a pool of what looks like water; this is actually Ink. There is a GATE power box nearby, allowing you to set up a base here if you wish.
There are only a handful of items that can be found in The Night Realm. One of these items is the Snag Vine Seed.
Snag Vines, once grown, can be planted on the ground to slow down enemies approaching a location. They spawn in apparently random locations in The Night Realm, so keep your eyes open for them.
Look behind the ink pool and to the right of the power box and you’ll see a doorway. Go through it. There’s a set of stairs in this room; climb up them and you’ll see a Night Essence sitting on a railing. Collect it.
Turn to your right and you’ll see another path in the corner.
Walk toward it and you’ll see a strange white mass. This is what’s powering the black goop blocking the keypad in the Security Sector. Destroy it with a melee weapon.
When you destroy this white mass, a portal will open up below. Go through it to return to the Security Sector for now.

The Night Realm, Part 2
After clearing the second floor of Storage Unit C, you’ll have found a new portal after interacting with the second ensnared keypad.
This new portal will deposit you in what looks like a prison.
First, walk to your left. You’ll find a large metal gate with a glowing orange button next to it. Push the button to open up a route back to the ink pool.
Turn around and walk to the far end of the prison’s first floor. You’ll find a staircase at the end next to a GATE power generator.
Walk up these stairs. You’ll find a bunch of cages, a couple of which have shadowy creatures in them. One of these cages has a blue crate in it which has Magnetic Alloy; this is the first renewable piece of Magnetic Alloy you can find in a Portal World.
On the far side of the second floor, you’ll find another glowing blob of white stuff on a pedestal.
As before, attack this white ball with a melee weapon to remove the black goop from the keypad in the Security Sector.
Once it’s destroyed, another portal will open on the far side of the room.
Go through this portal to return to the Security Sector.

The Night Realm, Part 3
The portal after the Fitness Course will take you to a new area of The Night Realm, though you’re not too far away from somewhere you’ve explored before.
Open the gate in front of you and you’ll open up access to the prison area.
Walk to the open area to your left and you’ll see a wall of red vines.
Climb up the red vines. Turn right, then turn left and you’ll enter a large open area with another white sphere to destroy.
Go into this large room and unlock the gate to the left. Break the white sphere and a portal will appear; go through the portal to return to the Security Sector.

The Night Realm, Part 4
Welcome back to The Night Realm! You’ve entered the most expansive part yet. This area can get pretty confusing, so pay attention to where I tell you to go so you don’t get lost.
Walk straight ahead and unlock a door. Then, go up the stairs and unlock a second door to open up a path to the previous area.
Backtrack through the doors you just opened and you’ll see a path to your left near a half-buried GATE generator.
Walk straight ahead and you can open a barred gate that takes you back to the very first starting area of The Night Realm. In this same corridor, you’ll find a path on the right.
This smaller hallway has a ramp going up on the left and a jail door on the right. Open the jail door and you’ll see a Night Essence and a long blue crate.
Continue down the hallway and you’ll see a large door that is opened with a button. This takes you back to your spawn point for this area. Look to your left and you’ll see a wooden crate with metal edges that you can open for some Sensors and Kevlar Scrap.
Turn back around to face the large door you just opened and you’ll see a mildly concealed path with a splash of yellow paint on the wall.
Head toward the paint and you’ll see a ramp going up.
At the top of the stairs, you’ll find two paths where you can build bridges. Build the 3 bridges as shown below.
To your right is a GATE laptop where you can learn more about this area. You’ll also get the recipe for the Night Helmet, which requires the IS-0059 Sigil. The IS-0059 Sigil is at the bottom of the ink pool at the start of the Night Realm, but you’ll need SCUBA gear to get it, so you’ll have to come back to The Night Realm later to retrieve it.
Past the GATE laptop is a gate that you can unlock; this will give you access back to the starting area. If it’s been long enough for Portal Worlds to reset, you may be able to get the Night Essence off of the balcony again.
Now, head down the opposite path to the left. You’ll find another long blue crate that you can loot. Behind it is the next place to go.
Walk up to the tree and you may find a Snag Vine Seed growing here.
Turn to the side and you’ll see the next place to go.
Strangely, the Shade here can actually talk. This is because it is Dr. Cahn, and Dr. Cahn is suggested to be IS-0012 and not the real Dr. Cahn.
In any case, continue past him and head down the stairs. You’ll find a large throne room with another flowing greyish white orb in it. Destroy the orb and a portal will open. You can also find a dead GATE member who will unlock a new cosmetic for you if you investigate him.
