‘Abbott Elementary’ Creator Quinta Brunson Ends Marriage After 3 Years

*Quinta Brunson, the creative force behind the hit TV show “Abbott Elementary,” is officially ending her marriage to Kevin Anik.
The Emmy-winning actress, writer, and producer filed for divorce in Los Angeles County Superior Court, citing irreconcilable differences.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ, the couple has a postnuptial agreement in place, and Brunson has requested that their assets be divided based on its terms. The pair, who do not share any children, have largely kept their relationship out of the public eye.
Brunson and Anik got engaged in July 2020 and tied the knot in 2021. The actress has occasionally referenced her husband in major award acceptance speeches. During her 2022 Emmy win for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series, she publicly acknowledged Anik for the first time.
“In case I am not back up here again, I have to thank my mom, dad, brothers and sisters, my cousins … my wonderful husband because he’s the most supportive man I’ve ever known and my incredible cast and show for helping me to make this show and make the pilot,” she said during the ceremony, per PEOPLE.
Brunson again expressed appreciation for Anik at the 2023 Golden Globe Awards when she won Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy TV Series.
“I didn’t prepare anything because I just didn’t think … Oh god. I love my mom, my dad, my sisters, my brothers, my entire family so much. I love my husband. I’m so happy. I love my cast. Oh, I love Abbott Elementary. Thank you so much,” she said in her acceptance speech.
Brunson has won multiple Emmy Awards and earned nine nominations for her work in Hollywood.
