A solar-powered PlayStation controller is mentioned in a patent

Sony has filed a patent for a PlayStation controller incorporating photovoltaic elements. Spotted by Tech4Gamers, the patent describes a controller featuring several solar collectors placed on the top of the case, around the analog sticks and buttons.
The energy generated would be stored in a dedicated area, so that the controller’s battery to be recharged via sunlight. Sony says it wants to solve the problem of conventional controllers, which require a replaceable or rechargeable battery to operate. This system would allow recharging from an external source, without relying solely on a plug or cable.
