A mod to introduce the GTA VI map into GTA V has been taken down following a complaint from Take-Two

This isn’t the first time a publisher has tackled down a community mod. Content creator Dark Space has recently been in the sights of Take-Two interactive.

The youtuber created a map for GTA VI that ended up being made playable in GTA V. The mod is called Mapping Vice City and reproduced the map from the sixth entry based on leaks and other social network analyses. Alas, Take-Two took it too personal.

"I spent months building a fan-made GTA 6-inspired map inside GTA 5 – something purely made out of passion, not profit. But shortly after uploading a video showcasing the project, Take-Two Interactive took it down. No warning. No conversation. Just gone."

"I’ve also removed the download link even though they didn’t ask me to. But I think it’s smarter to get out in front of them rather than waiting for their email that will never come… So why did they remove my video?… Well, my guess is that the map is probably a little too accurate."

The creator is convinced that his map for Grand Theft Auto VI ended up being very close to the real thing, so he wasn’t surprised to see Take-Two take action.
