‘A Minecraft Movie’ Made for the Money | WATCH Trailer

*“A Minecraft Movie,” directed by Jared Hess, does exactly what is it is expected to do. That is to milk one of the best-selling video games for all its worth.
The seemingly kid’s film also digs deep to arouse the interest of adults. The Vice Principal, Jennifer Coolidge, carnal cravings for Garet Garrison (Jason Momoa) in lustful language leaves nothing to the imagination.
It comes as no surprise “A Minecraft Movie” is rated PG for not only violence, but “suggestive/rude humor.” Nevertheless, the live-action money-grab will be a box office hit.
Delving into the built-in fan base of “Minecraft,” moviegoers get a glimpse of the “crafters” world. In it, creativity doesn’t just help you craft, it’s essential to one’s survival.
Misfits—Garbage Man Garrett (Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Eugene Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers) and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. Steve (Jack Black) is the expert crafter there.

To get back home, they’ll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies).
Together, they all are challenged to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative—the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.
Sounds great, but only in the reel world of “Minecraft” are creative types revered. In the real world, consensus has shown that the inept and incompetent are awarded and rule.
“A Minecraft Movie” is in theaters.
