In her first TV interview since her legal drama with Justin Baldoni began, Blake Lively acknowledged that she “has had a pretty intense year.”
“This year has been full of the highest highs and lowest lows of my life,” the Another Simple Favor actress admitted on Late Night With Seth Meyers.
Thought she couldn’t go into detail about her battle with her former costar and director Baldoni, the actress did address the importance of women speaking out.

“I see so many women around afraid to speak, especially now, afraid to share their experience,” she said. “And fear is by design — it’s what keeps us silent. But I also acknowledge that many people don’t have the opportunity to speak, so I do feel fortunate that I have been able to. It’s the women who have had the ability to use their voice that’s kept me strong and helped me in my belief and my fight for the world to be safer for women and girls.”
“It’s a pretty simple thing,” Lively concluded as audience members began to applaud. “It’s true.”

Lively referred to the lawsuit she filed against Baldoni, her director, producer, and costar in It Ends With Us, the film adaptation of the Colleen Hoover novel released in August. In the December lawsuit, she alleged that he had sexually harassed her during production and accused him of having created an online smear campaign with his publicists to harm her reputation.
Baldoni had been dropped by his agency because the accusations had already gone public in a complaint she made earlier to the California Civil Rights Department. His attorney denied the allegations and told Entertainment Weekly: “These claims are completely false, outrageous, and intentionally salacious, with an intent to publicly hurt and rehash a narrative in the media.”
Baldoni filed a countersuit against Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds in January, alleging that they attempted to take over the film and smear his reputation.
Many more legal moves and accusations followed, and a trial date was set for March 9, 2026.

During her interview with Meyers, Lively said the four children she shares with Reynolds — James, Inez, Betty, and Olin — have kept her strong during the intense time.
“No matter what day I am having,” she said, “I have to be Disneyland for them. It’s the best. It’s chaos.”
Lively’s latest professional project, Another Simple Favor, is the sequel to her 2018 movie A Simple Favor. She and costar Anna Kendrick reunited with director Paul Feig for the comedy thriller.
