*Jason Whitlock has taken a strong stance against “Sinners,” the latest film from director Ryan Coogler, calling it racially divisive and accusing it of pushing a harmful narrative.

Set in the racially turbulent South of 1932, “Sinners” follows twin brothers as they return to their hometown in hopes of a fresh start, only to find themselves facing a darkness greater than they imagined. As they open a juke joint for a night of music and drinks, a darker presence crashes the party—white vampires.

With a $100 million budget and shot in IMAX, “Sinners” launched with a surprising $48 million domestic opening, surpassing projections and edging out other major releases like “A Minecraft Movie.” It now sits at a global total of $63.5 million, boosted by strong word-of-mouth and stellar reviews.

But Whitlock isn’t celebrating its success. In a video review posted online, he captioned his take with a warning: “‘Sinners’ has an explicit theme about white people being the ultimate evil.”

The sports commentator accused the film of promoting an anti-White agenda. “This movie is not intended to scare you, in my opinion,” Whitlock stated. “This movie has an explicit agenda-themed narrative and we’ve seen it over and over… They all beat the same drum; these evil White people and what they’ve done to Black people.”

As SandraRose.com reports, he argued that the storyline lacks coherence and suggested that its main goal is to provoke emotional reactions rather than tell a compelling story. According to Whitlock, “Sinners” is another example of what he sees as Hollywood’s ongoing effort to “program” Black audiences to harbor resentment toward Whites.

“This is what they’re feeding young people,” he repeated, warning that the messaging is having real-world consequences. He referenced the recent killing of Austin Metcalf, a White teen allegedly stabbed by a Black classmate, Karmelo Anthony, during a high school event. The tragic incident has sparked heated online discussions about race.

Whitlock didn’t shy away from linking the two, saying, Anthony killed Metcalf “because he hates White people.”

He suggested that stories like “Sinners” are fueling the kind of division that can have devastating impacts.
