Toys for Bob would like to bring back Banjo-Kazooie

Since the release of Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts and Bolts in 2008, Rare’s platformer license has fallen into oblivion. The duo did, however, make a notable appearance in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate on Switch.
However, one studio wants to bring back this iconic franchise from the Nintendo 64 era. It’s Toys for Bob, the company behind Crash Bandicoot 4 and Spyro Reignited Trilogy. Its creative director, Paul Yan, broached the subject in an interview with Canadian Guy Eh on YouTube.
"We’d like to work with a company we’re already working with: Team Xbox! They’ve been a great partner and have a very interesting roster of characters for Toys for Bob to play with. The Honey Bear is the first that springs to mind. I think we can all agree that Banjo has been hibernating long enough, hasn’t he?"
Back in May 2024, Toys for Bob said goodbye to Activision following its acquisition by Microsoft. The studio is now independent, but is working on a new game in collaboration with Xbox. Rumors point to a possible unreleased Spyro.
