Among the attendees were the “360” singer’s parents and Daniel’s bandmates Adam Hahn and Ross MacDonald, per PEOPLE. Frontman Matty Healy was not in attendance.

Charli and Daniel have a long history of musical partnership. They first collaborated on No Rome’s 2021 single “Spinning,” which featured both Charli and The 1975. Daniel later produced “Crash,” “Selfish Girl,” and “How Can I Not Know What I Need Right Now” on Charli’s 2022 album Crash, and worked with her on the soundtrack to the 2023 comedy movie Bottoms.
The 1975 multi-instrumentalist also had a prominent presence on Charli’s 2024 album Brat, producing the tracks “Club Classics” and “Apple,” the former of which also name-drops him (“I wanna dance with George”) and features the back of his head on the album art for its single release. Daniel also got a shout-out on the song “Sympathy is a Knife” (“George says I’m just paranoid”).
Charli also revealed that the song “Talk Talk” is about a flirtatious moment between herself and Daniel at the 2020 NME Awards. “We were both sort of sat on different tables, and we were texting each other, but we weren’t hanging out,” she explained in a TikTok. “But we were both looking over at each other. It was very, like, one of us would look, the other one would look away, and then vice versa.”

In the song, Charli sings, “I followed you to the bathroom/But then I felt crazy,” which actually happened at the NME Awards. “I saw that he went to the bathroom, so I was like, ‘Oh, I’ll go to the bathroom, and maybe we’ll bump into each other and we won’t be texting all the time,'” she recalled. “But then I got halfway there and was like, ‘This is insane.'”
The Brat track “I Think About It All the Time” also chronicles the singer’s complicated feelings about the possibility of having a child with Daniel. “It’s kind of talking about feeling kinda existential about that and wondering: if I don’t have a child, will I miss out on this facet of life, or actually is that just a societal pressure?” she explained in another TikTok.

Daniel also contributed backing vocals to the Japanese House’s reinterpretation of “Apple” (which he also produced) from the remix album Brat and It’s Completely Different but Also Still Brat. “when i hear his voice i cryyyyyy i love him so muchhhhhhhhh,” Charli tweeted about the track. He also worked on the “I Might Say Something Stupid” remix from the same album with the rest of The 1975.
