Dawn Richard Lawyer Compares Diddy’s Verdict To O.J. Acquittal

Lisa Bloom is not holding back after Diddy’s sex trafficking trial verdict! Representing Dawn Richard in her civil case against the mogul, Bloom spilled all the tea while comparing Diddy’s verdict to the outcome of O.J. Simpson’s infamous acquittal. It’s a major loss for sexual assault victims, she says. But Bloom’s not done with Diddy just yet. Find out why below…

Lisa Bloom Is Not Pleased With Diddy’s Verdict
Bloom expressed her frustration in an interview with TMZ on Thursday, July 3. She told the news publication that the trial’s outcome hit her like O.J.’s 1995 acquittal. “It’s hard seeing a man caught on tape beating, kicking, and dragging his girlfriend only get hit with minor prostitution charges,” Bloom said. She was referring to that 2016 footage of Puff assaulting Cassie. Bloom’s calling out how Diddy’s celeb status likely swayed the jury, who were too eager to join the high-profile case. She says she’s been suing A-listers for years and knows fame can shift the scales. The jury didn’t buy the prosecution’s racketeering and sex trafficking case, but Lisa’s not letting that slide as she continues to seek justice for Richard in civil court.
Dawn Richard’s Fight Ain’t Over
After the verdict, Bloom dropped a statement, calling it “a disappointment” but making it clear she and Richard are not backing down. The singer’s civil lawsuit claims Diddy put her through emotional, verbal, and sexual abuse, plus starvation and sleep deprivation during her Bad Boy days, court docs claim. “We’re fighting aggressively until Richard gets full justice,” Bloom declared. Though she testified in his sex trafficking trial, Richard herself has not publicly addressed Diddy’s verdict as of yet.
What Did Dawn Richard Say About Diddy During Her Testimony?
In June, the ‘Coming Home’ singer told jurors she saw Diddy get violent with Cassie multiple times. This included a 2009 incident at his L.A. home where he allegedly tried to hit Cassie with a skillet full of eggs. Richard alleged this all went down while she’d been in the studio working with Puff on new music, making it that much harder to concentrate on her job. Dawn said he came downstairs “screaming, belligerent,” dragged Cassie upstairs by her hair, and she heard glass breaking. She also claimed Diddy punched Cassie in the face in New York and in the stomach at a restaurant with Usher and Ne-Yo present. Dawn testified Diddy threatened her, saying “people go missing” if she spoke out,
What Went Down in Diddy’s Trial?
After an almost two-month courtroom showdown, the jury handed Diddy the verdict on Wednesday, July 2. He beat the big charges, racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, which could’ve meant life in prison. But he’s not free yet, Roomies! Diddy was found guilty on two Mann Act counts for prostitution-related charges tied to Cassie and another woman simply known as “Jane.” For each count, he’s facing up to 10 years per count. Prosecutors want four to five years locked up, and Judge Arun Subramanian shut down bail, citing Diddy’s violent past. With sentencing on October 3, 2025, and more lawsuits looming, Diddy’s drama is far from done, y’all!
