50 Cent compares Sean Combs to John Gotti after split verdict

50 Cent is weighing in on the Sean “Diddy” Combs verdict in his typically outspoken manner.

The “In Da Club” rapper poked fun at Combs on Wednesday after the disgraced music mogul was convicted on two prostitution-related offenses in a federal trial but found not guilty on more serious charges of racketeering and sex trafficking.

In a brief Instagram post, 50 Cent — who has decades-long beef with Combs and repeatedly antagonized him over the course of the trial — joked about the Bad Boy Records founder being acquitted of violating the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act, or RICO.

“Diddy beat the Rico, that boy a bad man!” he wrote, adding three clapping emojis. “He like the Gay John Gotti.”

That last jab referenced the infamous mafioso of the Gambino crime family, who escaped multiple racketeering charges in the 1980s and was subsequently dubbed “the Teflon Don” because criminal charges never stuck — until Gotti was convicted of five murders, racketeering, and numerous other crimes in 1992.

Wednesday’s Instagram post marked merely the latest in a sustained stream of insults and jokes that 50 Cent (whose real name is Curtis Jackson) has lobbed at Combs (who has been known over the years as Puff Daddy, P. Diddy, and Love). The “Candy Shop” rapper dropped “Hip Hop,” a diss track against Combs, in 2006, referencing Combs’ infamous “white parties” and suggesting that he was involved in the murder of the Notorious B.I.G.

50 also joked about the civil lawsuit that Combs’ ex-girlfriend Casandra “Cassie” Ventura brought against him in November 2023 (which was settled a day after its filing), saying on Instagram at the time that the details of the suit made Diddy look “CRAZY AS A MF.”

He later made fun of the revelations that federal agents seized “1,000 bottles of lube at the house” during a raid on Combs’ property, and sarcastically wrote, “God help us all,” on social after video of Combs attacking Ventura emerged in May 2024.

50 Cent announced in September that he would produce a Netflix documentary series about the sex trafficking and racketeering allegations against Combs. “While the allegations are disturbing, we urge all to remember that Sean Combs’ story is not the full story of hip-hop and its culture,” he wrote in a joint statement with director Alexandria Stapleton. “We aim to ensure that individual actions do not overshadow the culture’s broader contributions.”
