Man found dead in car on rural road in Swan Hill, Victoria

A young man has been found dead inside a car on a rural road, taking the deaths on Victoria’s roads since Saturday night to six.
The 26-year-old was discovered by officers at about 7am on Sea-Lake-Swan Hill Rd in Swan Hill, in the state’s northwest.
Police believe the driver lost control of his car and crashed. It’s unclear how long he had been dead for.

“An investigation into the cause of the crash is underway,” Victoria Police said.
Just before 6am on Monday, two people were killed in a collision at the intersection of Westall Rd and Rosebank Ave in Clayton South.
About two hours later, a man was critically injured when he was struck by a car in West Footscray.
On Sunday night, a mother was killed and her husband and two children were seriously injured in a horrific collision in Trafalgar in Gippsland.
The driver and passenger of a second vehicle were also hospitalised.
Also on Sunday, a 43-year-old man was killed in a two-vehicle collision at an intersection in Pootila, east of Ballarat.
On Saturday afternoon at about 4.30pm, a 53-year-old male motorcyclist was killed in a collision with a car in Moutajup in the state’s west.
The motorcyclist’s passenger was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
