Nintendo does not rule out raising the price of the Switch 2 in response to tariffs

The spectre of the U.S. tariffs is back. For the moment, the tariffs only reach a 10% for all countries until the beginning of July. But once the 90-day period is over, rates could rise sharply for certain territories.

This will have a major impact on many sectors, including the video game industry. Manufacturers could once again raise their prices… And that’s what Nintendo recently implied. Indeed, Shuntaro Furukawa, CEO of the Japanese brand, gave his opinion on the matter in an interview with Yahoo News.

"Right now, the top priority is to quickly popularize the Switch 2. If tariff assumptions change significantly, we would like to examine what price adjustments we should make and implement them after taking various factors into account."

So, the Switch 2 could see its price increase shortly after its release. But to be sure, we’ll have to wait and see what President Donald Trump’s final position is.
